Nah he had some bad injuries for a little while there, also had a crack as a T20 specialist in New Zealand at one point which made him unavailable. He's kind of had a second coming as a First Class cricketer; didn't see it coming.
Yeah on ability sayers is a genuine FC #8. Just hasn't shown the ability yet for some reason. Would expect him to do so in the future mind. Better bat than Harris but obv. wouldn't be in this.

Agree for the first game, though I think we'd be missing a trick but not giving everyone bar probably Abbas a crack in at least one game.
My thinking behind it was all our backups have a pretty specialised role and a specific player they can replace. In the case of injury or poor form it's not like we'll have a multitude of choices. It does make sense to get majority at least a game though.
