Love all AIC but their more mellowed down acoustic songs are good to chill out too. Always have preferred this band to the likes of Nirvana as far as grunge goes.

Am I the only one who thinks Radiohead are overrated as fuck and just not particularly good? I mean I like a couple of their songs but really, what's the big deal?

Agreed. Some decent hits but can't get into them.

I like a few Radiohead albums but they are extremely overrated at the same time.

That Budapest song is pretty cool.

been fucking smashing out Neil Young of late.

Just finished listening to Sadnecessary by Milky Chance. didn't mind it, but the main three songs that have had radio time are so much better than the rest of the album. Listened to the Allday record a couple of times over the last few days and I quite like that.

Alice in Chains Dirt album. While I do enjoy most if not all their discography I think Dirt just stands above the rest. Particularly more melody driven songs like Rooster.

The Gaslight Anthem's new album was released today. Compared to their last couple it's nowhere near as strong IMO. Not bad, by any means (and may very well grow on me), but at the moment Handwritten blows it out of the water, and I'd probably take Sink or Swim ahead of it.

On par with American Slang and The '59 Sound IMO -- top songs are good, but the depth isn't quite there.

Bit late considering the album was released just over a month ago, but ANTEMASQUE's self-titled LP is pretty good. Would definitely recommend giving it a crack to anyone who likes The Mars Volta or At The Drive In, seeing as all the members in ANTEMASQUE were from both of those bands at some stage in their careers.

fuck Vance Joy is continuing to go on strong after last year. His few songs that the js have played this year have been catchy as fuck.

It takes a lot for me to really fall in love with a band. Very rarely will I really love just a so-so rock or pop band, for me they have to be incredibly unique and have a really endearing factor about them. Since several bands really recreated rock 15 or so years ago, the only band I have absolutely loved is Okkervil River and unfortunately I just haven't really dug their newer stuff.

I din't know Smith Street Band (besides the name) at all until earlier this year when I heard them cover this Courtney Barnett song above. Didn't know whether I loved or hated it so searched through their catalogue. I just got drawn in deeper and deeper and just really fell for it. I haven't liked this heavier punky sound for ages, but his songwriting is just brilliant. Anyway, bought their 2014 release when it came out and fucking loved it; particularly this following tune:

I realise plenty of people will really hate this and think it's shit but I reckon they'refucking gun.

The Courtney Barnett debut is exceptional.
