Just an idea here but It'd be cool to do a CPL version of Rugby Union. I'm more than happy to facilitate the draft for this. I reckon around 10 teams would be the optimum amount for this. Draft out squads of 22 Players. Now what I reckon would be awesome to do would be to make the player pool come from any player who has played internationally in the 1999 World Cup or afterwards. It'd be up to Heef whether or not this got simmed etc. Ratings for all the player would be the time consuming thing but if we had a few people chip into it together it'd work fine imo. But yeah be fun just drafting out the teams anyway. Current Teams Benny - Mermaid Beach Mustangs

Rego spot on here. I'd have no way to rate the differences between real players. It would pretty much be totally random, so using my sim isn't a goer. It works for Cricket as there's comparable stats to base assessments on - but even then, Cribb's basically said it's pretty tricky. I'd be keen to take part in a Union draft; we had a pretty good Kiwi one in the NZ subforum.
Personally I'd be happy to use Rugby Challenge to sim it. After the 25th November my exams will be all over and I'll have all the time in the world. Doubt the draft would be finished by then either.
I don't follow club rugby enough to take part in this but I really think you would want a lot more than 10 teams. Only picking 220 players in total would mean it is still the upper tier of players in the world that are getting picked. These drafts are best when it does require some decent knowledge IMO.
