Commish Speaks: Season 5 BasketballSim - The Changes

    Season 5 of BasketballSim is just 6 rounds and finals away now so I thought it was time to announce the new expansion franchises, as well as next season's new rules, etc.


    First of all the new teams

    Joining Conference A, owned by Tkpcunt and Marcuss...
    THE SABRES



    aaaand, heading to Conference B, owned by Jabba and Azzal...
    THE MUSTANGS


    Similar in colour and both comprising of a pair of shooting guard owners. I sense a rivarly :ninja:



    These teams however will only meet once next season as the schedule is reduced to a 13 round season. 26 rounds is way too long, and the 20 of this season has dragged. Each team will play their conference opponents twice (one home, once away) and their non-conference opponents just one (home OR away, if you cop 6 home/7 away bad luck, it'll be the opposite next season). Playoffs will remain in the current format.

    Teams will have a maximum squad limit of 8, until all teams are full. You will be allowed to drop players from your rotation if they are inactive. As of now, reserve grade will remain in it's current format, but that is something that could change. The idea of small squads is to make sure that your players are all getting a fair share of minutes. Having a squad of 10 makes it difficult to get everyone on the court enough.

    As of this post I am still undecided on provincial basketball, but I will be thinking that over when the playoffs arrive. Do not ask me about it in here please, there is another thread for that.

    Yea. New teams can have a reserve side. Pretty cool with another 2 clubs coming in, shows how much this sim has grown.
