Changing teams

This goes for any sport. What's your opinion on people changing their team after years of supporting them.

I'm NOT talking about 'gloryseeking' and supporting only winning teams. Basically just randomly changing teams because you don't feel as attached to your team anymore for whatever reason - it could be because they never really got into their team that much in the first place.

Random question.. I know heaps of people feel strongly about it either way.

Perfectly acceptable if there is valid reason. I've kind of done it myself.

Your team is your team, no matter what. There are plenty of times I have been sick of supporting my team, and now we are probably certs for relegation, however I would never consider changing to another team.

Not really a valid reason. I don't know. I needed a 2nd opinion lol... either that or some form of medical help :p

My mate used to go for Parra then when he started coming to all the manly games with us he converted the right way... So basically he supports manly cause it's the local teamd and cause we all do.

    Valid reasons include:-

    - Off-field image (Bulldogs rape saga for instance)
    - Change in personnel (Chelsea's lets buy a competition tactic)
    - Change in knowledge of the game (Put simply, knowing more about a sport is going to attract you to other sides style of play.)

    There's others, but I cbf'd.

Not really either of the first two. Dunno if it's the third. Do you have MSN?

Well I supported the Tahs in rugby due to them having Rogers, Lote and Sailor but in last couple of years have converted my support to the Reds.

    Good reasons.

I must admit, If I was a Mank Utd fan, I would be well pissed with all the fairweather fans that support the club and would consider a change elsewhere.

    Nope. Virused up the shithole.

It depends how seriously you take the team. I've always considered myself a Liverpool 'supporter', but seeing as there's no chance of me attending their games, or even watching enough regularly to form a real attachment, I've basically dropped off them to become a neutral. As for the Knights though, there's no way I'd ever change.

I have never changed teams. Still Man Utd and Yorkshire CC

  12. Bedsey JB Dempsey

Knights merge with Manly, who re-locate to the Central Coast.

  13. Andato BJT Manera

Merger with Manly is a killer

  14. Ged GEC King

Mine's certainly the third. I used to be a fan of the cows but I just can't stand their style of play or alot of their players. Back when I was 15 I wanted to see flashy shit. Now I can appreciate more technical aspects of the game.

  15. Speirz DG Speirs

    I'd have committed suicide.:p

Changing teams after years of supporting is ok depeding on what team you changed to. If you changed from United to City or Chel$ki or Liverpool that would be unacceptable. But if you went to Bolton or Preston or some other local league team that needed your money more then that would be ok.
