    I have started to kinda dislike Bennett. I always liked him growing up but I think he's a bit of a knob now, particularly with forcing Hodges and Parker to retire on top of all his whinging.

    Very sad, he's the type of player who could've been effective for another 5 years, well suited to an bigger older body.

    On the plus side I've really liked what I've seen/heard of him in the media, so he'll be a good voice in the league space. Will go down as one of my favourites of all time.

    Retiring when you're literally the best forward in the game seems a little rash. If he'd rather be doing other things with his life then that's fine obviously but I just hope he wasn't pushed by the Broncos/Bennett.

    Godges retired at the right time.
    I don't think he would have been pushed. I highly doubt Bennett would make 2 blokes captain thinking he was gonna give them the flick at the end of the year. Being 48, Parker could have taken a middle ranged contract and it woulda worked well for Brisbane.

    Yep, of his contemporaries; Hodges, Tate, Carlaw, Meyers, Harrison, Webb and the Walkers. I rated him to be the least likely to make it at the time. Now he's ended up the most complete player of all of them.

    I think that surely Parker got pushed so that they could retain Gillett. Only thing that makes sense. Either way, Bennett is a dick. Robbed us of at least 10 years of the grey god.

    Oates having a fair few dodgy moments with his hands but being as strong as ever in his running game since Origin is a point in favour of this as well. Either Gillett or Thaiday will move to lock IMO -- Gillett if he wants the job, Thaiday if he doesn't.

    Yeah, I think Oates might start getting moved into the 2nd row. Probably off the bench first. It's probably why we signed Mead for next year. We'd miss his working the ball out and his superb finishing, but what can you do. At least we won't miss his hands for feet I guess.

    What do Broncos fans (and others I guess) make of the team this year? Haven't impressed as a team much other than the Roosters game (and then Hunt goes and gets injured). Haven't had an easy game this year either. Hopefully the Panthers one ends up being one, but I doubt it.

    Really impressed with Ese'ese and Pangai Jr's progression. Shame the latter got injured too. Hoping we can keep both long term. Roberts seems to be turning into a much more complete player too. Passes the ball, defends a lot better, just looks much more interested too. McGuire is putting out some great numbers at lock, but just wish he wouldn't take so many late tackle count runs. Boyd is great as always.
    Moga is fucking shit, and Mead had a great game and a shit one too. Kahu can't seem to keep his body from falling apart. Gillett has been close to our best player, just like last year. Sims sometimes looks good, and other times...looks like a typical Sims retard brother.

    Brisbane's draw in the first 6 weeks was incredibly tough. It's a strong testament that their three losses have been by 1, 2 and 3 points. Got Souths and the Titans at a good time, fortunately.

    They're doing okay. The next three weeks will be pivotal coming into rep season. 3 matches at home against very beatable opposition.

    I thought they were good against Melbourne, and obviously the Roosters. Cronulla was rd1 so somewhat anomalous I guess but nonetheless encouraging.

    They just need to keep winning the close ones until rep season is over and they have a full compliment again. 5-8 finish is what I'm guessing.
