Yeah that's how I see it too. I just believe I'm much more likely to be able to pick up an average Number 6 in the coming rounds and that finding 2 better openers than Watto is a longer shot than the former.
"It is anticipated that Gary can contribute plenty with the bat and will add Ballance to the team sheet for seasons to come"
Really good pick up. Might be nit-picking and I don't really know where he's batted in country cricket but I'd have Ballance at 4. Just seems the solid type to have at 4, where Smith can attack more from 5.
Hogan should bat 11 even if you pick up bowlers who are worse batsmen. He just excels at the position; it's hilarious.
I think Benny probably thinks he's a wicket keeper because of this: However out of his 132 First Class games he's only kept wicket in four of them, the last such occasion being in 2004. Just as an opener (which is how he should be viewed really) he's a decent but not awesome pick at this stage.
I've only seen youtube footage and read articles on cricinfo from games he's been involved in has a handy record and is pretty good player in my opinion.
yeah. like in morgues review he mentioned umar akmal as a keeper. I don't think he has ever kept in a first class match. was made to keep in od stuff so they didn't have to pick his brothers form memory.
He's a good opener; unlucky not to have played a Test a couple of years back when the played Imraan Khan, and he reeled off 240 odd in a game last month. The keeping thing is a pretty typical CPL trap though; happens all the time.
Puttick isn't that bad of a pick at this stage. Not great, but not too bad. Handy opener actually made a few runs this season and has a solid background.
Yeah 241* I checked the scorecard etc. Gun innings. I was tossing up between a few bats though. Really wanted Maddinson.
1.Puttick 2.Dilshan 3. 4.Smith 5.Ballance 6.Watson (4) 7. 8.Starc (2) 9. 10.Shillingford (3) 11.Hogan (1)
