Yeah I think it should probably be over like 3 or 4 days.
Especially of they're looking at getting the pommy clubs in too, which would be awesome.

What I'd like to see, although it will never happen is get the minnow nations to play as well.
    It'd be awesome.

I read Keary was shoulder not pectoral from quotes by Sutton?

I don't see them playing on weekdays, or playing it over more than one weekend. I think it has to stay a two-day event, although they could possibly start it on Friday night I guess. If you were to involve ESL clubs, which I think would be a great idea, then you'd have to just start each day earlier and finish each day later. Teams/players would still play the same amount of games (3, plus finals), but there'd be more games in total.

I thought about this but it doesn't really work. Pretty much all decent international players from 'minnow' sides have ESL or NRL clubs, so they'd already be attached. Having players eligible for both their club team and their international team would be messy, and the clubs would win out generally meaning the minnow international teams would be an absolutely terrible standard full of local players. Best off just leaving it to the clubs IMO.

Yeah was discussing it with a mate today and that was the main point against it.
It'd be gun if the nations got first choice over the clubs as the clubs would have 'better' depth. But I'm sure the clubs wouldn't be too happy with that.
I just really do want to see more of an emphasis on growing international rugby league.

But yeah staying as just the clubs plus SL if that happens certainly makes the most sense

That list of injuries is full of players who were rested as a precaution so it's a little exaggerated. We're usually not privy to half the knocks and bumps that come out of games but there was no where to hide for clubs over the weekend.

There's obviously still some pretty serious injuries but you usually get that coming out of the trial rounds when clubs start to put out their full strength sides anyway.

It was always going to be a topic that popped up after the Nine's and a pretty dire one imo.

I assume by "dire" you don't mean: extremely serious or urgent...

    Nah dire as in.

I expect Phil Rothfield to write a dire article about it in the coming days

I gotta say I was kinda getting bored of it near the end, 8 hours of footy in a row 2 days in a row. Would prefer they halved that and played a second weekend in Aus.

As would I. It began to lose it's novelty especially in the shit groups towards the end of the day.

How long is Keary supposed to be out for?
