I've enjoyed hearing your thoughts honestly.
As much as I enjoy the immense sexual tension between Magic & MF, it's good to hear a fresh voice.
Especially one that isn't as jaded as all of us are.

I tipped the Dogs. They've just got to hold back those two islander beasts. The Dogs are pretty good at defending their line... when the other team is shit at attacking. Can see them frustrating the shitty Broncos. But the game will probably be decided on some random sin binning or TPJ penalty.

    Hi Tart
Thx for your post. Understand you are a titans man.

when you get time could you give an analysts of this years team and the Impact of the lineup changes planned for 2021?

Whose your team Lukic? Who do you support? Wests based on your avatar? If Wests how are your fan base finding Madge?

Non rugby league related. But have changed my avatar. NZ has a crop of 3-4 young cricket tyros coming through. This cunt is called Finn Allen. Has the potential to be the most dynamic ODI player the world has seen since Viv Richards. Or he could end up falling flat and being a Peter Fulton. Point is we have three of these high potential dudes who could be anything if they are handled well.

This game is horrible so far. Neither team want a bar of aiming up in defense and error after error with the ball.

NQ just keep getting more embarrassing. That 5 try period in 17 minutes sums them up under Green now. Typically I would avoid mentioning the coach but he's not a good rebuilding coach. He's kept trying to do the same gameplans as he had with the 2015 team. It's outdated. Teams read our plays so easily, know how to wreck our defence and mostly done with good hole running and offloads. Offloads are the worst impact because we get in at least 3 in the tackle and still can't wrap the ball up and that's one less in the line for the next plays.

    Yer I support the Tigers.

I personally like Madge and I'd say most of the supporters do. I definitely think he's brought a sense of professionalism that the club has lacked for some time and unlike Taylor, at least has the track record to justify the methods he's using.

My biggest gripe with him was signing Brooks to such a long deal when he first came in. Totally unnecessary and has the potential to mess us up for years to come unless we can shift him off to England/another club or he inexplicably makes a leap and becomes a quality half. It's tough to fault him as far as some of the other deals go as he's inherited a poor cap situation with the likes of Packer, Reynolds and McQueen taking up over $1.5m of the cap.

While I do like the direction we're going in, I think it's imperative we find a way to retain Grant for the long-term. If we lose him after this season that's a lot of the progress we've made thrown out the door. It's also crucial we find a half that at least has some creativity and organisational skills to give us a chance to score points outside of just grinding and set-plays. Brooks is perfectly fine playing a backseat role in the halves, given he's a great defender, great in support, has a decent kicking game and can be an effective runner, but at the moment he's basically our 1B alongside Grant and we're not getting the results we need in attack.

Rest of the team is pretty good though. Nofoaluma and Leilua were starting to gel before his suspension while our pack is starting to really lift. I think we're a good 2nd rower short (CHN come on down) but I like our middle rotation and next year we're adding Stefano Utoikamanu who has massive raps on him.

Provided we can stay injury free, I think 7th or 8th is realistic this year given the footy we've been playing. With that said if we come 9th or 10th I won't be too bummed. However next year there's no excuses if we manage to retain Grant and I can't see us keeping Madge much longer after that if he goes 3 years without making the finals.

Madge is a gun disciplinarian and gets his teams to work as hard as anyone in the comp but I don’t think he has the tactical nous to get a side like the Tigers to a top four level. He made his mark in the NRL with Souths but inherited an improving side that had added Inglis and Burgess in the two years prior to his arrival and was savvy enough to build the side around them.

However, after Burgess and Te’o left, the side rapidly declined and Madge ended up completely fucking it up. Seibold then took the core of his last team which finished well out of the eight and took them to the top four (few other factors at play there) with a few basic changes that a good coach would’ve been able to identify.

I like the Tigers and like Madge so would like to see them do well, but can’t see them holding onto Grant which is the absolute key to them being a really good team in the next few years.

In saying that, the Tigers at 2.50 to beat us tomorrow is a fucking great bet.

  12. Magic AJ Parker

Yeh first 30mins was a good prelude into what we can expect from the Broncos/Dogs game.

Bottom 6 this year is so far below the rest of the comp its not even funny. Can't remember it ever being this bad.

  13. Julian BJ Taylor

I think Souths are pretty bloody ordinary. But there's no way they should lose to that Wests team. No top 8 team should be losing to that Wests team while Twal and Leilua are out. It's a deadset patchwork backline and a very, very ordinary running forward pack bar Aloiai and Luciano.

  14. Lukic L Popovic

Agree, especially with Talau now out too. I'd throw Mikaele in that group with Aloiai and Leilua tho, he's quite good just needs to get through more work.

  15. Tartmaster AJ James

Ugh, I may have forgotten those blokes were out when I tipped tiggers

  16. Tartmaster AJ James

    We’re really really bad.
We’ve got a few rising stars (Brimson, Fotuaika) that we need to lockdown, and a fair bit of dead weight we need to unload.
    Losing Arrow hurts, a lot.
Tino coming in is good, but it’s a downgrade from Arrow.

Still holding out a faint glimmer of hope we can get Fifita.

We’ve struggled massively to pull top line talent and I don’t really see that changing in the next year or two.
I can definitely see improvement from last year and I think we will get better under Holbrook. But don’t see us really doing much for a while

Thoughts on getting Fifita to a 1 year 1.25mil deal? I think that money for an edge backrower is insane. If he is worth 1.25, surely offering 1.5mil/year to someone like Tedesco/Keary/Munster is of more value.

  18. Tartmaster AJ James

I think we have a much better shot of getting Fifita than we do Teddy/Keary/Dumster though.
I don’t have an issue with throwing a bit extra at a dude who is a gun in his position and has shown that he can basically win games by himself.
I’m assuming that if we did 1yr $1.25m it’s be with a view to sign him on a longer, slightly cheaper deal after that. which probs makes more sense.

  19. Farhat AM Farhat

Man I hate those penalties. They watch the replay in slow motion then penalise a player for still tackling someone who has only just lost the ball.

  20. AVA T Delonge

Yeah as soon as they touch the ball they should be fair game to be tackled. Such a weak decision.
