    It’s not what cost them last night but Bennett picking his 3 good props to start with Murray on the edge will cost Souths several games this season. Those 3 come off at about the same time for Lowe, Nicholls and Sele. Murray then heads to the middle when he’s not fresh. It’s a ridiculous set up. Lowe should play 80 on that edge, Murray should be lock and one of the big 3 boys should come on from the bench to try and not give up ascendency in the middle third of the game.

    Amazes me that so many coaches simply pick the worst 3 running forwards in the 17 on the bench. I understand players like to start but it’s an 80 minute game. Minutes 1-20 do set the tone but are no more important than any other period in the game.

    Look, i went on and on for years about the neutral infringement rule costing a team big time (and last year it did) but here's another ive been arguing for, for years.

    Awarding a penalty try should not negate the pro foul. Thats the 4th pen try this week and the offending player has stayed on. It makes no sense. The action is the same, try or not. They should be in the bin.

    Barnett scores there anyway so where is the punishment for Renolds? He HAS to go to the bin. Either that or all pen tries should be possible 8 pointers.

    It's pretty clearly better. If Nofoaluma and Leilua weren't clowning we'd be winning and that's with Mikaele and Garner injured (admittedly Barnett is injured too).
