Does NSW seriously not have any better props than fucking Woods?

The entire game is short on world class props at the moment. But to answer the question not really. Fifita could be great but he overplays his hand, runs sideways and lacks common sense discipline.

Woods is a marshmallow but who else is there?

    Still backing Sezer? lol.

No he's well and truly gone down hill since joining Canberra.

    Vaughan and Klemmer.

I think Alex Twal is a future origin player.

His stats have been seriously impressive in limited time:

Well yeah but I wasn’t including them cause I think we’re all picking them.

    Everyone bar the selectors.

So who is more likely to be the next QLD halfback - Taylor or Croft? I feel like Taylor is more talented...but Croft is in a far better and more grounded development system.

  12. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

Neither? Hunt/Munster/Milford are all young enough to keep them out of the side for 8-10 years.

  13. Alec AD Funkotron

Hunt is definitely not good enough, and the other 2 are 5/8ths.

Michael Morgan doesn't seem to be as heavily featured in the discussion for the number 7 jumper as he probably should be IMO.

A 26yr old with almost 150 First Grade games under his belt who's shown tremendous composure & adaptability throughout his whole career. He's the only halfback option who's ever shown any true ability to run and organise a side on his own, even if it was only for half a season last year.

It'd be nice to see if he could back up last years finals series performances this year, but he probably wont get that opportunity now that Thruston's back. But I just don't see a better option TBH.

He'd soften the blow when you loose Smith in a year or two as well.

  15. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

Hunt is way better than both of them.

I assumed his name was already in pen in the number 7. Everyone else is fighting for the 6.

I think moving forward we are going to see

    1. Munster
    6. Milford
    7. Morgan
    9. Friend/McCullough
    14. Hunt/Friend/McCullough

  17. Cribbage RG Cribb

Definitely don't have four better to justify leaving him out.

But Queensland don't either, so it's not something I'm overly concerned about.

  18. Cribbage RG Cribb

Yeah this is why I think the best option for Queensland is to go Morgan and DCE. Both of them are more comfortable when not having to really organise a side, but between them they could definitely organise an edge each with Smith in the team. Partnering one of them with someone even more five-eighth-ish than them could turn pear-shaped though IMO, but I think we'll probably see Munster at 6 with basically a dice roll between several guys for the 7. Queensland wouldn't want to leave Morgan out altogether but they have the cop-out option of benching him available, and they'll probably take it.

  19. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

I really don't see them not picking Morgan at 7 with Hunt on the bench.

I think I've said it every year for the last 3-4 seasons, but Peachey in 14 is one of the most important. It seems like the back row picks itself, although I'm sure they'll end up putting Josh Jackson on one edge and Frizzell up the guts instead of going Frizz-Cordner back row and Trbjovic 13. If they do the latter and get Fifita off the bench with a Klemmer and Vaughan starting I think we'll be laughing.
