If you won't do something without money, I'd imagine money is your primary motivation. If it isn't primary, it's definitely secondary.

Are you seriously comparing the game today, to before 2012? The game is a business now, and the players have been treating it that way recently. What a stupid comparison.

When did Greenberg become CEO? Everything definitely feels jewier than before.

Yeah, perhaps secondary. That's what I said.

Are you off your fucking rocker? The game wasn't a business before 2012? What the fuck are you even talking about?

In 2010 Johnathan Thurston was on $700,000 a year. Lockyer was on close to half a million. I’m sure their $5000 match fee for Origin helped make ends meet in this non-business-like environment.

Now of course these players playing Origin for peanuts does not mean Keary is doing it for the same reason. By the same token the fact that they are now earning 90 grand a series instead of 15-20 does not mean he’s doing it primarily for financial gain be it directly or in future contract negotiations. How do you know he hasn’t had a genuine change of heart?

Keary told The Courier-Mail: “Home will always be Queensland for me. Growing up there, we all supported Queensland, I loved Wally Lewis, so Origin was kind of born into us up there.

“I’m definitely in their boat if they ever need me,” Keary said of NSW on Monday. “I think I went in and met a few of the boys.

“I learnt what they’re all about, I learnt what the team is trying to become and jumped on board straight away.

Oh, I definitely believe him. Just a quick meet and greet was enough to convince him to change who he supports and wants to play for, I bet money had nothing to do with it.

Ffs Gemmell you know i didn’t say money had nothing to do with it. It’s not fair to assume it’s his main motivation rather than wanting to actually play and experience Origin.

I'm willing to guarantee he wouldn't be willing to play if it had no financial gain. The experience of playing is a distant second.

Follow the money. for $30k I'd be quite happy to play rugby league for the Taliban

I think we all have a bit of fun talking about who we'd pick but unfortunately our opinions don't mean shit. So who we do think is actually going to be there?

For QLD, I'd say we'll be looking at something like this.

    1.Slater
    2.Holmes
    3.Inglis
    4.Chambers
    5.Gagai
    6.Munster
    7.Morgan
    8.Scott
    9.Smith (c)
    10.Napa
    11.Kaufusi
    12.Cooper
    13.McGuire

    14.Hunt
    15.Hess
    16.Wallace
    17.Papalii/Glasby

It's possible that Hunt may start at halfback and Morgs to the bench. Milford and DCE are no chance imo. Neither is Oates.

We're gonna see just how good the boy from Logan is. We need him to steer this less experienced team like he did in last year's decider.

  10. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

Unfortunately that's the team I see being picked, with Glasby in the 17.

  11. jazman84 JM Eightyfour

Hess and Papalii have been so shit this year though. Wish we didn't have to risk them.

  12. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

Hess has been good with the pill. Don't think he knows about the other side of the game.

  13. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Glasby will miss Origin 1. Papalii better wake the fuck up.

  14. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

    Yeah, Goates is a must.

  15. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

    Yeah, he's not.

  16. Benny BS Read

    Hahaha this is spot on

    Where I'd go now

    Tedesco
    Addo-Carr
    Mitchell
    Trbojevic
    Cotric
    Bird
    Maloney
    Vaughan
    Cook
    Klemmer
    Frizell
    Cordner
    De Belin

    Peachey
    J Trbojevic
    Cambell-Gillard
    Sims

    Sims in for Lewis
    Cotric in for Doogs

  18. Benny BS Read

Even if Cleary comes back good you don't pick semi injured potential stars to debut less than 100%

  19. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

I don't get the hype around De Belin. Trbojevic any day imo. Makes more metres, far more tackles, has ball skills and Origin plus Test experience.

  20. Wilson SB Wilson

Lol if Bird is in the halves give them the shield now.
