Game really did change when Dragons got caught running on last the first time. Brain fart at the end there though to not even look like setting a kick on last.

 

Not trying to restart a shit-fight but if Cronk leads Easts to a premiership, which is looking increasingly likely, does that justify the decision?

When Bennett sacked Lewis Broncos fans were livid but it proved to be the correct move; within two years they were premiers and then went back to back.

Easts may have won the competition with Pearce of course but it’s pertinent that they’ve finished 1st, 4 times under Robinson and hitherto won one premiership.

 

How Cecchin gets overlooked is beyond me. Sutton is fucking awful and only marginally better than Klein.

 

The achievements aren't really relevant imo. At 21 he's so far ahead of any other half of the same or similar age.

And yes, while his ball playing isn't anything to write home about, he still averaged 0.6 try assists per game this year which is comparable to DCE 0.7, Hunt 0.7, Milford 0.6, and Cronk 0.6, who are all on serious coin. And he makes about half as many errors as all of them (bar Cronk). Running game is very solid as well. Solid kicking game. In a losing side, with Maloney playing like aids, I thought he really stepped up.

He's just very well-rounded for a kid.

 

Munster shouldn’t really be compared as he’s a running five-eighth with three years on Cleary. Milford shouldn’t really either so it was a little contradictory of me to add him into the mix.

Taylor is the only one I’d compare with Cleary given their ages and fg games. Taylor is much more creative especially with the kick but he’s chock full of errors, both with the ball in general and on a decision making basis. There’s no doubt that throwing money at Cleary is a risk but it’s one you’d take given the potential and especially given the lack of quality halves in the NRL these days. He’s much, much more rounded than Taylor who can’t organise for shit.
