700k watched the Women's SOO last night.

    Was a cracking game too.

Going to be interesting to see how the competition goes this year.

Disagree. Won't be interesting at all.

I could care less about it except for the fact they steal money generated from the men's game to fund it and will continue to do so indefinitely because it will never be a thing.. women are never going to buy merchandise or watch regular season games. They've certainly spent a fair chunk of money marketing it without any foreseeable reward.. I am certain the government is giving them and the AFL some type of deal if they support diversity and women's bullshit.

As someone who regularly attends games it holds far more interest & value to me as a curtain raiser than the current state where either 1) there is no curtain raiser 2) the premier league play or; 3) There's some oz-tag/touch advertisement.

It's a second Rugby League competition that will generate enough coverage to genuinely follow, especially sine they scrapped the U20's competition.

As for taking money from the Men's game, I highly doubt it. Combine resources sure, but the Men's game is already running at a loss there's no more money to give.

No issue with the comp being the curtain raiser, I won't bother watching the games. I can see a day where they start calling for equal pay, which will obviously be a joke.

You’d rather watch women than reserve grade?

Yeah this surprised me. Especially given he's talking about going to Roosters home games -- it'd primarily be his own first grade team's depth in reserve grade he'd see.

The current reserve grade competition is a joke. Even after they've scrapped the Holden cup and increased squads to 30 the Jersey Flegg competition still has more relevance.

If there was a genuine reserve grade competition then absolutely.
