Pretty much. He's now picked three different utilities this series, none of whom are suited to play hooker. Walker has clearly fallen out of favour; picking Bird and Moylan over him on the bench is concession of a selection error on Daley's part for Game 1 when he pulled that shit way out of left field. And twice in a row now he has filled an injury by simply throwing the utility straight in as if they were the next best option all along. Walker in for Morris and Bird in for Reynolds. He's gotten both wrong.

This is after he talked down Austin and/or Sezer for this year saying they didn't have any big game experience and they're too green (excuse the pun, his not mine.) Then he goes and throws a 21-year-old with fewer than 40 FG games, and whose been playing centre all year, into the halves.

So essentially this is how Laurie Daley rates NSW's top 5 halves options, in descending order:

    Pearce
    Maloney
    Reynolds
    Bird
    Moylan

That alone is an indictment of his analytical ability.

No; they'll talk about his try assists and justify it as him being a "spine player" and praise the selection.

Surely Hannant is a better shout...

    Yeah what a fuckwit.

The non-selection of Todd Carney on so many occasions totally fucked us. He's by far the best player on that list and he only got one series IIRC.

Yeah just the one series for Carney. Meanwhile Mitchell Pearce is the most capped out of that lot (as a half). More than Barrett and Kimmorley. (lol there's 35 Test matches between those two).

    Pearce - 15
    Barrett - 10
    Kimmorley - 10
    Anasta - 8
    Hodkinson - 6
    Maloney - 5
    Wallace - 4
    G.Bird - 3
    Soward - 3
    J.Reynolds - 3
    Finch - 3
    Carney - 3
    Gower - 2
    A.Reynolds - 2
    Gasnier - 1
    Campese - 1
    Lyon - 1
    Mullen - 1
    J.Bird - 1

    As compared to QLD

    Thurston - 36
    Lockyer - 20
    Cronk - 13
    Prince - 5
    DCE - 2
    Hunt - 1

By my count, QLD have made 1 selection error in the halves in 11 years. Picking Hunt over Prince in 08. Aside from that every change has been a result of injury.

They waited too long to pick him and then were too quick to drop him.

DT's top 11 players to never play Origin.

Alan Tongue, Michael Luck, Darren Britt, Craig Colman, Nathan Blacklock, Preston Campbell, Matt Orford, Ben Barba, Jake Friend, Shaun Fensom, Ryan Hinchcliffe.

Brent Sherwin and Luke Patten should definitely make the list. Tbh there are dozens of players I'd pick ahead of blokes like Luck and Hinchcliffe and Tongue.

Moylan just said 'Wherever I go on and play...' So I'd say it's safe to assume he's been told he's on the bench.

He wouldn't come in if Myles is out. He's just 18th man as a development player and Melbourne isn't playing this week. Same happened with Ethan Lowe for game 2 which obviously wasn't a sign he was next in line given Cooper was chosen.

Walters has actually said that DCE or Mbye would come in for Myles which worries me as it makes me think that they are changing the game plan purely for Myles to get a send off.

A so called bombshell with Daley set to start Moylan at 5/8th.

    1.Tedesco
    2.Mansour
    3.Jennings
    4.Dugan
    5.Ferguson
    6.Moylan
    7.Maloney
    8.Woods
    9.Farah
    10.Tamou
    11.Graham/Frizell
    12.Jackson
    13.Gallen (c)

    14.Bird
    15.Klemmer
    16.Fifita
    17.Frizell/Graham

I'd say that'll be the team.

  14. Fiery GR Smith

About time Tedesco got a run. The cockroaches have been wasting some serious talent there.

  15. Julian BJ Taylor

    It's called injury.

  16. Fiery GR Smith

He should have been in the side last year

  17. Toolman TR Man

Maloney and Moylan.. two of the weakest players in the competition. I doubt Moylan is dumb enough to make many misreads, but fuck he's skinny. Will be running at him all night.

  18. Wilson SB Wilson

    No different to Reynolds tbf.

  19. Toolman TR Man

    Reynolds is stocky and muscular.

  20. jazman84 JM Eightyfour

Laurie has a chance to make a good call and manages to fuck it up.

    Surely he'll start with Bird.
