    Stormtroopers trained in 'hand to hand/melee' combat is nothing compared to a lightsaber duel with the next Darth Vader (as you later point out).

    He hasn't finished his training, but Rei hasn't had any training. The only justifiable reason as to why he didnt kill both Finn and Rei is there is alterior motive (as Athers said)

    As strong as Vader? :/ if he get to within 80% of becoming Vader it will be a stretch from what i've seen so far.However it is now a disney franchise so it wouldn't surprise me if they try and luad him as better as Vader at some point :laugh:

    oh that clears that up. thanks for that :) i have no more questions on that matter....

    IIRC Luke's hand was chopped off and the lightsaber was retrieved/scavenged from Bespin in the EU, so something similar makes sense for the movie.

    Rey has more force follow through her then Ren which was why she was able to resist he mind control. But i agree they should not have survived that long.
    Vader never controlled or got into peoples minds. So even if he doesn't become Vader, he wants too.

    I think that the fact that they showed blood coming out of Kylo meant that he was weakened. Twas there way of justifying Fin & Rey being competitive in the duel.

    It was supposed to, Kylo was portrayed as a conflicted young man, he is Anakin Skywalker, not Darth Vader.

    Man. I dunno. It's probably one of the best films I've seen in the cinema in a while but I still left it feeling slightly underwhelmed. I mean, the ANH parallels were pretty big and the Starkiller being just a big death star, despite their self-awareness, was a bit of a cop out plot design. Rey also performing a Jedi mind trick despite being untrained and never having witnessed one before, forget her one-upping Kylo Ren in the saber fight, felt as if they were just pushing her as a massive Mary Sue.

    Also, the score. I can't remember a single piece of the new music after the film. Perhaps it'll grow on me, but yeah - it lacked something epic like Duel of Fates or Battle of the Heroes

    Absolutely loved it.

    This was the only real wtf scene for me, like Leia/Rey had not met prior to that scene?

    Re: Rey's origins, it seemed to me she'd never been off of Jakku before given her awe at all the greenery when they land as Maz's place.

    I'm 100% sure he won't. When he was talking to Vader's mask he said something about the light still calling out to him but I'm positive him killing his own father has completely turned him to the dark side. Kylo is going to be an absolute monster.

    Rei was amazing, one of the best acting performances i have seen from a young person in awhile.

    Finn was fucking terrible completely dragged the film down imo


    Not an avid starwars fan but it didn't really differ from the other films which was a shame. Still rate episode one as the best
