So I just searched "Krogan" on the thread...

Night One

"The Krogan was in training, working out - hoping that he would soon be given the opportunity to take on the Thresher Maw and come of age. But he had been highlighted as a danger to them - his pure Krogan genetics could create untold difficulties for them. He sent in some of his crack troops, but the only damage they were able to do to him would leave him with some scarring that the chicks would dig. A pile of corpses lay around him as he exclaimed a blood curdling victory cry."

Night two:

"The Krogan had been targeted again. They knew where he was and it was surely time to depart. But before he could get to his charter shuttle, he was under attack for a second time. This time, the Collectors were after him. How can the same shit happen in different ways to the same Krogan twice? This time he was mad. Another long, drawn out firefight ensued. The Collector forces were no match for him, but he sustained more injuries. I can't keep facing these forces down on my own for much longer, the Krogan sighed before unleashing another horrific battle cry and thumping his chest with vigour"

Night Four

"He'd sent his operatives after the Krogan before and he'd managed to hurt him. Surely nothing could go wrong if he sent more operatives to take him out. In the intervening period, the Krogan had gained in strength and significantly at that. There would be no escape for his operatives, the Krogan slaughtered them and enjoyed it. He thumped his desk on the arm of his chair in anger and frustration. An opportunity wasted, but his operatives were at least expendible. There'd always be more volunteers where they came from."

1. All three attacks were on the same Krogan.
2. Attacks nights 1 and 4 seem consistent - the Krogan was attacked by the same person those nights. Operatives and crack troops.
3. The night 2 attack was by the Collectors who weren't the attackers night 1 and 4

So yeah KATA's mercenaries definitely weren't the ones who attacked Night Four. Attacks nights 1 and 4 the write up mentions "he" and "them". So while Saren could have been behind the Night 1 attack, he's dead now and Benezia obviously isn't the attacker on night 4. Anyone with theme knowledge know or could speculate on who this is?

It's a bit problematic as we have the Collectors, Benezia AND someone else who is trying to kill the Krogan. Maybe he can kill others too. Who is "he"? He has an organization as well seemingly as the first write up says "them". I'll do some ME reading as well but it's a long shot that I find anything of substance.
