    Really handy pick up considering you've got quite a few blokes who don't play huge minutes up the guts.

    I know you tend to over rate your own players but gee I reckon Melbourne have picked up a good'n in Mark Nicholls. Never looked a world beater, but whenever he played first grade the team was better and winning and when he got dropped the last time he absolutely dominated NSW Cup. Defends ok too. For mine he can really add to the Melbourne pack and compliment Finucane, Bromwich and McLean in the middle.

    Yeah Edwards is a good signing. Really liked him at Newcastle when he was actually playing in his correct spot. I don't think Canberra ever played him in his rightful position once so it was always just a matter of time before he ended up in reserve grade there.

    Jacob Loko’s career is in tatters after being arrested for possession of ecstasy.
    At 6am this morning, the troubled Canterbury Bulldogs player was arrested carrying the drug on his person.
    It’s the latest in a string of run ins with the law this year. Loko pleaded guilty to drink driving in February and was suspended for four games and fined $10,000 after a drunken fight with Manly winger George Taufua.
    UPDATE: 4:28pm – Loko has been told his contract will not be renewed.
