His first half was one of the best ever. 20 odd minutes, 108m. Hectic.

there's no way whitehead comes close to scoring off that trainer hit, tedesco is almost in line with him

That Cronk sin binning was 100% correct. Can't believe people are blowing up about it. By hitting Papalli early he denied him an fair opportunity to catch the ball and had he have caught the ball he'd have definitely been had a try scoring opportunity. That's a professional foul every day of the week.

I'm just shocked to my core that the main talking points post grand final are refereeing decisions.

Yeh watched the game back on Fox sports and whilst Whitehead had a straight line to the ball there's no way he was beating Tedesco to it.

A professional foul is a deliberate foul. I don't think there was any intent there from Cronk he was probably a fraction of a second early.

Defining a sin bin offence as denying a possible try scoring situation is dangerous territory. Escorts close to the line? Markers not square? Denying a quick play the ball to a team who has an overlap?

I would like to see them pull back on some of the sin bin offences from this year. Players should only be getting stood down if they are intentionally playing outside of the laws of the game.

As with the Jurbo from the Manly Souffs game, I'm happy with it in the context of what has been deemed a professional foul based this season. But 100% it has been one of the most over-reffed seasons when it comes to sin-binnings. Really hope they take a step back and redefine some of the stuff in the offseason otherwise it'll just get worse.

In a universe of common sense, it was worthy of a penalty.

In the universe of NRL 2019, it was worthy of a sin bin.

Cunts I was on the fence where it all went down. I’m not saying Canberra win the game without the referee fuck up but punishing a team (and the Clive Churchill medalist) for doing the right thing is a disgrace.

I’m beyond proud of the Canberra club. But as usual disgusted by the NRL as a whole. Backing Cummins from higher up is an even bigger cop out.

70 mins of that was a phenomenal experience but feeling let down by the game itself (not for the fucking first time) just about ruins the experience of the entire season for me. It’s akin to the ruling when Canberra stopped playing last year when the touchy put his flag up and they gave a try. Playing to the whistle or playing as you should to the referees call should always be rewarded and with ten minutes to go in the grand final Canberra were penalized for doing so.

I enjoyed the game. Funnily went into it expecting a loss and being happy to be there but that has just fucked that. Just about nothing else could have fucked that.

Also just on game day. Fuck Our centerpiece stadium being at Homebush is the absolute pits.

Yesterday there were 2/3 bars out there serving mid strength beers for $10 a pop. Then good luck getting on to a train within an hour if you’re going back to the city.

    Also quick question for MF.

If the ball is interferes with as by the trainer last night, the loose and feed should go to the attacking team?

  12. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Correct but 'attacking team' in the rules regarding neutral infringement, is not the team with the ball. Its defined as the team with territorial advantage. So if the ball is in your half you are considered the defending side, even though you may have had the ball last.

Its a terrible, terrible, antiquated rule which needs to be changed.

And i dont even think a trainer on the field, unless theyre attending to an injury, should be considered a neutral infringement if they get in the way of the ball.

    Dw was in Raiders half

  14. Julian BJ Taylor

Yep I thought it was in the other half dw, was wrong and can’t watch a replay for obvious reasons

Just quietly I reckon Daniel Tupou is the best winger in the game at the moment. He's so well rounded these days.

  16. Julian BJ Taylor

He was good last night but he’s no Anthony Don.

Yeah the whole rule is a bit silly in an era where the tackle count is so important -- I'm pretty sure it's a hangover from the days of unlimited tackles, if not rugby fucking union -- but even if they don't change it altogether they definitely need to stop considering trainers neutral. Ball should go to the team whose trainer it isn't unless they've deliberately kicked/thrown it into the guy.

  18. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Yep. I've been saying for a long time it should've been changed and that it would wind up costing someone dearly. I can't know if it cost the Raiders the GF but in a fair, common sense world, at least one of those "neutral infringements" should have gone Canberra's way.....yet neither did.

  19. Magic AJ Parker

Gonna say something that might wind a few up but Roosters should have got a penalty on that play anyway for Soliola's hit on Keary. I thought it live and watching a replay last night I'm even more sure he's taken his legs out mid-air.

  20. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

I think thats a hard case to make given Soliola blocked the kick. Hes gotta have the right to make contact with Keary's legs in that situation.

If he gets there too late and the ball is clear, sure but he didnt dive at the legs. Its both accidental and incidental imo.
