Should’ve been gone over 10 weeks ago. He’s cooked.

Gotta say and I didn't wanna say it in the heat of the moment but the Joey Manu sin bin was a crock of shit.

This perception that just because you've made a linebreak or had a quick ruck the play the ball before entitles the attacking team to another quick play the ball is illogical. The defensive side certainly isn't disadvantaged in the modern day game because the rucks are as slow as they've ever been but you've got to give the defensive side the opportunity to wrestle back momentum if they earn the right.

Joey Manu's tackle was about as dominant as you'll see, the attacking player had no right to a quick play the ball, linebreak or no linebreak. It was far from one of the slowest play the balls of the day, in fact it probably didn't even rank in the top 50 but because it was on the back of a linebreak somehow it has to be a penalty.

    Paddy likes this.

I don’t think anyone will disagree with that.

I've heard people say it should have been a penalty but not a sin bin, and that's definitely one opinion that doesn't make sense. If he's giving a penalty away there it's always gotta be a sin bin IMO, otherwise players would just do it deliberately all the time. But yeah like Magic I think it should've just been play on; it was a dominant tackle that just happened to have occurred in cover.

fucking useless shit im glad im not watching blow an 18-0 lead and lose the fucking tigers special

  6. Wilson SB Wilson

    Ooooooft. Dem knee jerks.

  7. Paddy P Orr

Salty as fuck at the refs for that second Tigers try and not pulling up a high tackle prior to the penalty try.

  8. Lukic L Popovic

oh we won lol. thought the score said 27-26 cowboys

  9. Tartmaster AJ James

That’s just not a penalty try though

  10. Paddy P Orr

Have my doubts about it even being a high shot too. I can get past that just not the high tackle before it from the Tigers that went unnoticed.

  11. Tartmaster AJ James

I didn’t see the one before, I was only half watching the game.
But yeah I wouldn’t even call the penalty try as a high shot, utterly ridiculous that it was given as a penalty try.

  12. Lukic L Popovic

I think the knock on try was a shocker but penalty try is fair enough. Whether its a high shot or not is the questionable thing since it bounced off the ball but if uve established foul play, its not a stretch to say thats a try.

  13. Wilson SB Wilson

Yep got no dramas with the penalty try.

  14. AVA T Delonge

Yeah, if the shot to the jaw (which in this day and age is a penalty 100% of the time) is the reason he dropped the ball, then it's definitely a penalty try. I only saw it when it happened but I think that was the case?

  15. Paddy P Orr

I'm ok with the penalty try, just not the knock on try nor the high tackle before the penalty try.

  16. Tartmaster AJ James

It’s not the reason he dropped the ball though.
Kahu stripped it, and they said that he only stripped it because CheeKam was stunned from the high shot.

Which is a load of bullshit.

Kahu was gonna try to strip regardless, how can the video refs say that he wouldn’t have stripped it without the “high” shot?

Judging by everyone else saying it’s fine, I realise I maybe in the wrong here, but to me it’s a bullshit call.

  17. Magic AJ Parker

Yeh I'm not convinced he lost the ball just because he was hit high, if he was hit a little bit lower and still stunned by the force would he be any less prone to making the error?

I think it's probable he would have scored, I don't think it's a certainty though and I thought that's what refs ruled on.

Benji literally being the winner of the game was salt in the wound too. Benji has been NQ biggest thorn since 2005.

  19. AVA T Delonge

The rules simply state that if "in the refs opinion a try would have been scored" they can then give a penalty try. I always assumed it had to be a certainty as well, but the rules are ambiguous as usual.

Ben Cummins too was ref I noticed. Worst ref in the game for mine to most teams.
