If we pick one extra middle forward but one less ""prop"", it's a win IMO (by which I don't mean we'll win, just that the selection was better). Especially given we have a prop injured. Locks playing prop (especially when they're proplocks like Finucane, JakeT, Brown etc and not locklocks Murray/Radley) is something I'm far more comfortable with than second rowers playing prop (or even lock), or starting props playing way too long.

This is what I mean. They're forever picking sides that leave us a a middle bloke down for 25~ minutes, it's been Hoffman and Jackson in years gone by, I can only assume on the logic of mobility. It's changed slightly in the last year or two by way of the Dave Taylor fallacy, sticking Frizzell in the middle because he's the biggest guy.

Sorry that's not what I mean, I misread your post. My point is they need one tight runner with go forward on the bench. Could just be a matter of starting Murray although with him being smaller I guess the idea is he'll be more effective after the opening exchanges.

I've not watched any footy all year so my insights are essentially worthless. How's Tariq been tracking? I always liked him on the bench because he's someone that can actually play on a fringe and up the guts

They seem to have figured it out now with their most promising option - steal one from QLD and claim him as their own.

Yeah I was kind of just expanding on your post a bit. If you mean you'll boycott if they stack the side with second rowers I agree, but some people still think of rugby league forwards in terms of "front rowers" and "back rowers", and think Finucane and Trbojevic have more in common with Crichton than Vaughan. That's dumb. Magic's team has more middle forwards in it than Fittler's Game I team, but it's less ""props"" so people will pick on that.

I’d be picking RCG to partner Vaughan. I don’t really care about his club form. He’s the only bloke capable of playing Klemmer’s role and he has Origin experience. Starting JakeT up front is a mistake imo for a couple of reasons. A.Its likely to blunt his natural attacking ability. And B.The pack surrenders physical dominance in terms of size which makes Arrow and Papalii look a lot better than they otherwise would as starting bookends.

He’s already mobile for a prop. You need size. It’s part of why Klemmer was so hard for us to handle.

Jake Turbo’s hit ups are as weak as piss to, if we’re being completely honest.

I like Kimmorley's suggestion of moving Cordner to prop.

Fuck me these cunts like to try and reinvent the wheel every time they lose a match.

Breaking news is that Pearce and Cleary will be NSW halves.

    I give up.

Pearce should be 7 controlling the team if they’re gonna pick him. Still think they’re crazy not picking Maloney.

Might have to update my Pearce video...

That Hooper hot take will likely end up being as trustworthy as a post-curry fart

    Shame for Cotric.

  14. Alec AD Funkotron

Cotric would have been dropped anyway for Turbo IMO. Jai Arrow is also possibly out now.

Fuck I'm looking forward to see 6. Pearce 7. Cleary 14. Wighton, especially with no Klemmer.

It's like the worst of three worlds. Just pick Maloney or Walker instead of Cleary FFS. And the 14 actually should, y'know, be a proper hooker option (or failing that, have 4 forwards) rather than a backline utility.

they think they have to pick cleary as he's the future lol. some kind of future they have there. he has a great bomb and he's 'composed for a young man' the trait that has somehow made him be considered the star of the future.. he is composed because he never does or attempts anything, and he hasn't demonstrated any real talent to suggest his game is going to ever go much further than what it is now.

  19. Magic AJ Parker

Yep. He used to have a good running game before teams started to figure out that he's no threat as a ball player and just defended the dummy.

Pearce and Saifiti have been picked.
