  1. Lukic L Popovic

I actually think the Tigers might be the best fit for him in the left centre spot.

  2. Cribbage RG Cribb

Yeah but I think he'll just bail to overseas union for the $$$ now that he can't play for Parra.

  3. jazman84 JM Eightyfour

I actually think that Hayne is more suited in the 6 in the current climate.

  4. Paddy P Orr

Stoked at prospect of Josh McGuire to Cowboys.

  5. morgieb MC Burridge

So it appears Jarryd Hayne is not the only fullback with fanciful lifelong dreams.

  6. Alec AD Funkotron

McGuire leaving seems so weird. I guess they are hoping they can keep TPJ, Fifita, Su'a, Carrigan etc instead. They have more potential than McGuire, but who we need experience too. I think Gillett might be the only regular over 25, off the top of my head?

Valentine Holmes wanting to play NFL seems like a dud. If Hayne couldn't make it, I really doubt Holmes can, even if he went 3 or so years earlier than Hayne did.

And Hayne is now one step closer to playing Gridiron, like that shitty movie with Adam Sandler.

    Napa ----> Bulldogs
    Taupau ---> Roosters?

And prepare for more NFL dreams if they're willing to throw this much money around for a nobody let alone someone decent. I thought holding the ball was essential in the NFL? I guess they're in for a bit of a surprise when these islanders seem to train great but then cough up the lollies during the game under pressure.

"Rugged back-rower Kelepi Tanginoa and Kiwi-born Taniela Paseka have both secretly been trialling for contracts in the NFL.

Neither have distinguished rugby league resumes - but former South Sydney reserve grader Jordan Mailata has proved that is not necessary to make it in the NFL.

While league superstar Jarryd Hayne struggled in his brief NFL stint, 21-year-old Mailata, who has never played a top level league game, recently signed a four-year $2.5 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles."

Haha Mailata was a fucking shit cunt junior league player too. I was really surprised when I learned about him getting drafted. He didn't even know the rules either.

  9. Tartmaster AJ James

Mailata's playing at tackle though, his job is being a big cunt and stopping the other big cunts hitting his QB.
He doesn't need to hold the ball, or know which route to run etc.

Loving the salty Gallen tears. Could drink them up all day.

Mailata is going to be a fucking gun over there once he's settled in. He'll be the catalyst for a vacuum of players doing similar, and more than likely NFL scouts poaching youngsters far earlier. He'll be a good thing in that respect though as he went over and got told what position is best for him. All the knuckle head arm chair drongos watch his tape from over here and name just about every offensive position that handles the ball which could be good for him.

Holmes will more than likely do the aforementioned knuckle head arm chair drongo line of thinking, similar to Hayne, pursuing some disillusioned kick returner / running back fantasy. If I'm right, he'll bum out and be back playing for the Cowboys before you know it. He should do what Mailata did and attend their training camps and present his measurables and let them determine what position is best. For what it's worth, I think he'd make a decent safety if he spent the time to learn the position.

Bet you enjoyed those tears of joy at the Granny in '16

  13. Tartmaster AJ James

I think he'd be ok as a return specialist while he was learning the game better, but I could see him at safety long term

  14. Wilson SB Wilson

Problem is return specialists rarely make the final cut nowadays unless they are competent in another primary role.

Hayne was just as gifted as Holmes as an agility ball runner. And he’s bigger too. I can’t see Holmes making it.

Gallen’s reaction is lolworthy tho. If this is some principled objection to players breaking contracts, where was it when a player broke their contract to join Cronulla?

  16. Toolman TR Man

'It’s understood the alleged victim was interviewed by the NRL’s integrity unit before the matter was referred to police.'

so hayne's 'victim' goes to the nrl instead of the police. geez i wonder why

  17. jazman84 JM Eightyfour

So glad common sense prevailed regarding Bennett/Seibold.

  18. Wilson SB Wilson

Don't think common sense prevailed; the Broncos were finally in a position to do what they wanted to all along and punt the old bastard.

  19. Toolman TR Man

Losing Holmes has worked out pretty well for the Sharks
