Imagine your halfback and hooker playing that badly behind such a dominant pack and consecutive sets. They completely rolled the Dragons and the 'Australian halfback' offered absolutely nothing and 'the next qld hooker' could barely even pass one decent ball to his halfback. The coach needs to change the structures to suit Cronk as well.. he is not Pearce, he cannot play expansively with speed energy and instinct, he wants to have constant structured options. He was completely lost running across the field and eventually just passing it along.

Don't think many have considered Friend the next QLD hooker for the last 2-3 years.

Definitive proof that Pearce is better than Cronk IMO.

Indeed. Especially those proud Roosters fans who’ve been booing him.

I fully expect cocaine to be """found""" on Friend and some other underperforming high salary players soon.

do the Roosters have an up and coming halfback in the lower grades? or is there no plan at all at the moment for after Cronk?

    Nathan Cleary lol.

I fully expect Nathan Cleary to end up at the Roosters at some point.

There's also a bloke running around for Newcastle that looks like he'd still have another 3-4 years in him once Cronks gone.

also, what happened to manu's footwork? he was making breaks out of nothing when he first debuted. now he never makes breaks, a couple of games ago he had space and i thought for sure he'd do something but he didn't do nothing. he's become more dependable but he's also lost his spark already

It seems Mitchell is trying to bully the roosters into playing him at 6 next year or he's threatening to leave.

Doesn’t make sense given Cronk’s impending retirement.

They’ll just buy someone imo. Winning the gf this year would be the priority at this point though. There’ll be a fair whack of player movement heading into 2020 I’d say.

JWH charged with a crusher tackle.

100 points to challenge which would mean a week off if he failed
90 carry over points if he enters an early guilty plea

I think it's a bullshit charge but I thought the same about Joey Manu's 'crusher' when the club fought it and lost but I still reckon you challenge it. 90 carry over points is just asking for trouble when it gets down to the business end of the season.

Will be interesting to see what the club do, so often sides seem happy to take the carry over points but you're playing with fire IMO.

Ryan Hall makes his debut with Tupou ruled out due to injury.

Kinda excited to see how he goes but real tough ask for a player returning from an ACL to make your comeback game in the NRL.

Real risky game for us too. Seems to be a trend when sides play games against each other so close to other for the losing side to circle it on the calander and use it as a barometer for how much they can improve.

Was a pretty embarrassing defeat last time out for the Broncos, makes for a good clash.

We've dodged some bullets in recruitment over the last couple of years with Lachlan Coote, Mitchell Moses and now TPJ.

But geez Crichton has been a dud buy. Looks like Robbo has pretty much given up on him as a second rower, at least for this season and he'll be playing off the bench as a middle but just throws the balance of our pack completely out.

He's in a 4 way competition for 2 spots in the lock rotation with Radley, Butcher & Tupouniua and I think you could make a valuable argument for all 3 to be ahead of him in the pecking order.
