Feel like the Cows are being slightly overrated this year based on last year.

  5. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

What on earth makes you think St George will finish third?

  6. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

    1.Melbourne

    3.Parramatta
    4.North QLD

Best of luck with picking the other 12 teams...

  7. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

One of, if not the best packs in the comp with Widdop and Hunt behind them. I think they're one of the teams to beat 100%.

I won’t be surprised if Penrith make the top 4.
Fair enough but they looked very lacklustre in the charity shield against a very ordinary Souths pack. I don’t rate Widdop anywhere near as highly as some do and Hunt has been off the boil ever since, and actually before, signing with them. 3rd is is big stretch for them imo.

So fucking pumped for this season. Can’t wait for tonight.

Based on the testimonial and on paper, I can’t see Melbourne finishing that low. They withstood a near-full strength Cowboys side with Smith and Slater on the sidelines for the last 30 minutes. I know it was a trial but like the Charity Shield it was played at a pretty high intensity. Then again wet weather suits Melbourne and doesn’t really suit the Cows.

I just think Melbourne run by Smith are always a top 4 side regardless of no Cronk.

  13. Toolman TR Man

no cronk, no mclean, old smith, 6th place. you're underestimating how much no cronk will impact them, they won't be as consistent

  14. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Old Smith? lol dude, he won the Dally M last year with two rounds remaining.

  15. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

It's a trial. I don't think I rate Widdop as highly as a lot of people, but I definitely rate Hunt higher than lots of people. I think if Hunt has his head right, behind a lot of go forward and second phase play, he will absolutely dominate with his running game.

I think I've been a bit guilty of overhyping them to that extent. Time to simmer it down since they're known to start rusty.

  17. Sultan Pepper HG Emm

Parra for top 4, I really rate Arthur as a man manager.

  18. MASTERS S Masters

    Storm gonna win tonight ;)

Cowboys lucky to make the top 8 with garbage like they've played tonight.

Hess can score a try but his defence so far this year has been horrendous. Cows attack and defence was borderline disgraceful. Early season rust explains timing and execution. It doesn’t explain arm grabbing like 6-year-olds or taking the wrong option 7 out of every 10 opportunities.

They play like they’ve been reading their own pre-season hype. Better turn it around very quickly.
