He only won $120000 or something. Tbh if you have enough money to put $400000 into the game it was more of a statement than anything.

Won 140k, surely still means something to him even though he must be a multi millionaire.

Good shit All Blacks, great to see Carter go out on such a high.

  3. Gazza GJ Weaver

Yeah but he still would have coated the room

Just watched the match. All Blacks definitely deserved the win, though brown trousers time when Ben Smith got sin binned the Aussies scored a couple of tries whilst he was in there.

Good to stick two fingers up to the Australian press as well after this week. Gutting for the Australian players though who've quietly gone about their business and were clearly the 2nd best team in the tournament.

Yeah full credit to Australia in recent months. Built up to play some of their best rugby in a while for the big one.

Aside from NZ, Argentina and Japan I don't think you could say the same about anyone else.

Probably applies to Scotland as well although that's got more to do with how bad we were in the Six Nations.

Sonny Bill is a legend. Best player ever and even better person. Get in.

New Zealand were far too good. We only got into the game when Ben Smith went into the bin. I thought we could maybe steal the game there The All Blacks showed a bit of inexperience. For instance, NMS had an opportunity to kick the ball out which would have brought Smith back onto the field. Instead, he missed touch and we scored through the space which wouldn't have been there if Ben Smith was. AB's deserved it though. We came a long way in the past 12 months.

Well done Australia well done New Zealand

i won't wank on about the keys to victory but will talk about sbw

I am very impressed by his actions. Maybe that kid will live a long life maybe he won't but some of that went through sbw's mind. He has been criticised already for giving away his medal but the kid must be delighted. Apparently the kid walked on to the restricted area seeking an autograph and got bull tackled to the ground by security. Sonny saw that and took control of the situation. Legendary.

How fucking good was Carter's drop goal? Didn't even set up for it, he was just like "Oh, I'm 40m out, I'll just take a cheeky pot shot".

Will put my hand up and admit I was horribly wrong about SBW. I thought Hansen had made a terrible mistake in bringing Conrad off at half time but SBW's first two touches were gold. The first to set up Nonu's run and then to force the knock-on (from Mitchell I think?) with that ball-slap.

Also  at how stoked Barrett was when the ball bounced up perfectly for him. His minutes-per-try ratio must be insane. I swear he only plays 10 minutes a game but scores every time he plays!

Credit to the Wallabies though. They definitely contributed to one of the best games I've watched in a while. It's scary to think that Hooper and Pocock are only 24 and 27 respectively.

How many tries did Barrett get this world cup?

He seemed to have an immediate impact when he comes on.
I like the idea of him continuing as an option impact player.

    Three tries I think.

Nah poor, if he can sort his goal kicking out his running game is that threatening for the whole 80.

  14. Escath LE Schaw

Maybe we should just find someone else to do the goal kicking.

Are there any decent goal kickers that aren't first fives in the ABs? Or even NZ?

  16. Hurricane JD Hurricane

    Ben Smith
    Israel Dagg
    Tom Taylor
Colin Slade could play Full back and be in the side for kicking. Ben Smith to the wing.

Yeah probably Slade would be he best of the four closely followed by Taylor and then some drop off to Dagg and Smith.

  17. HeathDavisSpeed HT Davis

Aren't Slade and Taylor both off overseas? Plus Taylor is mediocre anyway.

Damien McKenzie and Jason Woodward are probably better shouts. I doubt Woodward will become an AB but McKenzie is still young enough to be one. It may just be youthful exuberance but McKenzie doesn't strike me as a future AB 10. I think he could play 15 though. No idea whether he is actually a good goal kicker but almost certainly better than Smith/Dagg.

  19. Hurricane JD Hurricane

Good call on McKenzie. His brother is a shite kicker. The worst kicker in the country who actually does it regularly is Andrew Horrell. Single handedly lost my chiefs at least two games and proved to me that Dave Rennie is an overrated coach.

  20. Hurricane JD Hurricane

We will sort out Woodward. Look for him to improve with some tough love.
