It's to be expected though. Trying to approximate a rating for every single player, every single week - You'd have to watch each game at least twice and preferably three or four times. Easy option? Look at statistics. Unfortunately for them, RL is not baseball or cricket.

That makes me wonder whether they actually had 'judges' at all or just have a formula based on their stats.

I'm sure they do have judges. I just happen to think they can't be arsed (nor could I). At least their excuse for bizarre ratings is mildly pardonable. As opposed to the Dally M judges who are just fucking clueless. But I'd bet good money RLW's journos are sitting at home scrolling through NRL.com and NRLStats letting the numbers form a huge amount of their opinions, which is understandable.

It's just not a coincidence that the two most statistically impressive positions on the field are always winning it.

Are you the Oracle? That's an amazing skill.

I dont think you have to watch every game to have a valid opinion.

Having a valid opinion on who the best player of the 26 Home & Away rounds are certainly requires you to watch a significant amount of games, at the least you have to follow all the rounds.

This isn't even a rational argument, I don't think even you truly believe what you're saying...

I was wondering how Milford made it over Hunt.

We're not having an argument yet. Neither of us has made one in favour or against RTS winning it. I don't think you're even interested in doing that, assuming you actually think he deserved it. Perhaps you're not inclined to discuss it with someone who only saw roughly half of his games. All I can say is, he must've been pretty fucking impressive in the ones I missed. I take leave to doubt it though, especially given RLW's track record.
