Agree. They have such a good team on paper: Strong, balanced forward pack with a backline that should tear others to shreds, but no, no cohesion in the team. He should have been sent packing at least 2 seasons ago already imo.
Close game at Palmerston North. Hurricanes leading the Blues 18-17 at halftime. JK needs a win soooo badly.
Was at the game. Stunner of a night for it. Canes started well but quite a few costly errors (Nonu) and too many penalties cost us from running away with it. Happy with the win though.
Just offering nothing; trying to stop the oppo playing and making an utter horlicks of it. If Lealiifano had his kicking boots on it could've been a massacre without the Brumbies ever getting out of second gear.
You know you're a rubbish team when you have Adam Thomson at blindside and he is about your best player. Very average player.
I didn't see the game but I watched a bit of him in a previous match. he should really shine at Super level just like Liam Messam does because it is the perfect level for him to play. Any higher and he will get a nose bleed. Any lower and he will dominate.
Messam is a lot better than Thomson.Messam's a pretty good All Black now. Thomson is and has always been a plodder and one of worst to wear a black jersey.
Messam >> Thomson in an AB shirt it is true however Messam is probably a very average international standard player while he is probably one of the very best super players. Possibly better than Read and mcCaw at that level.
Excellent first half of rugby at Newlands. These are the two best teams in the comp. Stormers leading 13-10 at HT
"cough" "cough" Hurricanes........"cough" unbeaten. Looking forward to Landers v Canes next week though.
I am a Wellingtonian but I am not joining this bandwagon. Even if the Hurricanes make the playoffs they (Wellington) has no idea how to play playoff rugby and will get knocked out pretty quick. I did join the Lions bandwagon 3 years ago and dragged 5 people with me to watch the NPC final. Wellington laid an egg and were thrashed. Sopoaga in particular had no idea what he should be doing.
I wouldn't say that at all - not being able to play play off rugby at the end of the day doesn't mean we can't make it all the way besides it is still early days. I also wouldn't call it a bandwagon as such, just lots of us fans finally getting something from our team (this is our best ever start to a season) so it's good to see. I'm still reserving full judgement until we play the Landers next week - by then we should have a pretty good indication. Blues game aside, we're playing much better rugby - amazing defence in particular. Wasn't at that final but was at the 08 final which we lost 7-6 which was very disheartening. That was a good season for Wellington rugby, Wellington had the highest average attendance and saw crowds even the Canes haven't been able to get since. Hopefully a few more Wellington people get up for the Canes this year.
