Benny's Jets

Watson is arguably one of your best 2 bowlers, so it means you don't need to have a bits and pieces player or a bowling allrounder at 7. #7 for you should be a wicket keeper or a specialist bat unless Watson ends up injured IMO. Especially since Dilshan is an adequate 6th bowler too.

So I'd be going something like

    1. Puttick
    2. Dilshan
    3. Klinger
    4. Watson
    5. Smith
    6. Ballance
    7. Vilas
    8. Starc
    9. Shillingford
    10. Hogan
    11. Whoever does best in the trials out of Parnell, Amir, Plunkett etc

I know you're keen on trades, but I can't stress enough that we haven't announced or even decided how they're going to work yet. So if I was you I wouldn't go around arranging heaps of them in case we decide you're only allowed to make one trade, or there will be no pre-season trading at all, or something like that. We've told you to draft a team first without thinking about trading and we mean that; don't get ahead of yourself.

My best advice to you if you do trade is try to keep the above balance in mind. Having a bowling allrounder at 7 would just be a waste of Watson really.

Yeah the benefit of Watson and Kallis is that it means you get another middle order or top order batsman because you can use them as your 4th or 5th bowling option.

Chataranga could be a useful selection at 7 if you trade for a keeper who bats better because he's primarily a batsman but would add variety to the attack with left arm spin, which you don't have any of. But yeah if you've got Watson then your #7 guy should definitely make the team primarily on batting.

Am worried about Chaturanga now due to your rubbishing of their first class stats. Dilshan has test proven quality but obvs.

    6.Better Keeper
    7.Chat
    8.Parnell

Could occur the more I think bout my possible trade the more I'd rather get rid of Vilas if I do. Keep Dilscoop if so then Chaturanga isn't immediately required. Herath needs to HTFU and retire.

  6. Skippos SM Morgan

I don't think Herath retiring will help you at all, tbh

  7. Cribbage RG Cribb

Yeah Chataranga's a batting allrounder. There are like 10-15 spinners ahead of him really. He needs Sanga, Mahela and Prasanna to hurry up and retire. :p

Apparently there will be mass SL retirements after the 2015 WC.

  8. Cribbage RG Cribb

He's a bit different because he averages 64 with the bat in 8 games for Sri Lanka A. Their Premier League comp seems to have been vastly over-rated by CPLers but Chaturanga himself was a decent pick.

Just in time for CPL 2 when Amir is back after successful appeal, Smith and Ballance are top 10 test bats, Watto domination at 6 for 18 months, Holder, Starc and Hazlewood bowling in tests :p
