Yeah Napier's been one of the quickest bowlers in England for a while now.

He's a bit of an oddity. I wonder how many years he's got left in him as he's been training with Essex for longer than I have been out of school. I remember "PE" lessons where I'd go down the gym in Chelmsford and the Essex team would be there too and Napier would be there with guys like Mark Ilott and Peter Such.

Anyway, back to the topic and it just surprises me that he's still going. He was incredibly injury prone in his early days and never managed to clock up much pace. Fast forward 17 years and he's much less injury prone, playing more cricket than ever and bowling at a higher speed. It's bizarre.

Was considered one of the fastest bowlers going around when he was playing T20 for CD iirc. I know that the HRV Cup at the time was full of medium pacers but he would have been touching 140 probs.

Loved watching he and The Mug Mason smoking Auckland in the final with pace and bounce on the fastest Pukekura Park pitch I have ever seen (I suppose that's self explanatory since Mason was beating people for pace). That game was the pro debut in any form for a certain Jimmy Neesham btw. Seems like yesterday.

    Aldo :( So jealous.

Bet he probably did something similar with his batting too.

I thought Heef's team was "Pakistan Presents: The Greatest Hits of World Cricket"

The Pakistani Engine Room, methinks. A lot of style, but how much substance?

At least all my guys are still playing, Phlegm. Your team is like a Who's Who of 1999.

  10. Phlegm SP Phlegm

Sehwag is your best fast bowler and is old and fat.

Will be watching the Pakistani no ball count with interest also.

Always knew you had nfi when it came to cricket. You've probably been watching a rat in a box for 20 years and thought it was a TV.

BLERTA / Squirts Rivalry brewing. Good to see.

Curly haired twat #1 finds his way into the squad.

  14. Gazza GJ Weaver

Surely you need to draft the set?

  15. Phlegm SP Phlegm

sehwag being a spinner is the joke you dummy.

but i just win this by default because you capitulated to picking marshall. mike atherton next? grant bradburn?

  16. Phlegm SP Phlegm

i see why you picked the shrub though - makes it impossible for your pakistani hordes to fix with any reliability.

  17. Gazza GJ Weaver

    Robbie hart imo

Marshall still plays you semi-evolved shunt. Unlike half the core of your team. Sehwag isn't the spinner either FFS. There's this guy called Babar who averages 20. Who the fuck have you chosen? Anil Kumble? Clarrie Grimmett?

  19. Phlegm SP Phlegm

Babar black sheep have you any wool...

  20. Phlegm SP Phlegm

clarrie grimmet probably still a better batsman than hamish marshall ftr
