Wow this is a thriller, didn't think it would go past 6-6 :P

Fuckin Yates and his master serve.

    Go Forcington!

We've had a short break, and are set to continue. Warrington to serve. He wins his service game quite easily. As does Burger. So does Force, but he fights off a late comeback in the game that took it to a deuce. Yates now. And that's a bad one for once. Force get the upper hand on the second serve and they've got the advantage now. A short rally and it's 0-30. A splendid volley from Burger gets it back to 15-30. Warrington sends one cross court to make it 15-40 and match point. Two of them in fact. Yates serves. Warrington sends it straight back. Yates has far from the best backhand, and Force dives across to volley powerfully. It's nowhere near Burger, and the best Yates can do is push it into the net. Warrington and Force win the Preseason Supertournament, congratulations. They get a grand total of no ranking points and no money, although they will gain first seeding if they play together next week. Up next, the singles final.

    C. Warrington & B. Force def B. Burger & S. Yates 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 4-6, 6-2, 9-7

    Gaaaaaay :(

Do we get second seeding if we play together/first if you don't?

If you want to continue as a team, yeah.

Cracking game though. Will be shattered for the singles final.

And play is ready to get underway in this singles final between doubles victor Bruce Force, and New South Welshman Luka Popovic. Force to start us off then. He serves, and the return from Popovic was placed right into the opposite corner, no chance for Force. Popovic tries the same tactic again, but it's just a fraction of an inch out. Force tries to serve and volley, but his opponent guesses where it's going and manages to put it past him, it's 15-30 now. Popovic somehow takes another two points and Force is broken in his first game! The Englishman is looking tired out there, and his opponent doesn't even break a sweat as he takes each game with ease. Force goes down in the first, 0-6. He goes to his seat, wondering what he can do, and munches on a banana.

Popovic leads one set to love, 6-0.

    Absolute shocker there.

The next set is more of the same, Force broken in his first game yet again. Although things do look slightly better at one point by taking his first game of the match, this seems to motivate Popovic further, who takes the next three games without dropping a point to win the second set 6-1. Surely too easy for him.

Popovic leads by two sets to love, 6-0, 6-1.

Force tired from the doubles obv.

    Getting absolutely creamed here.

  13. Lukic L Popovic

Have to play what's in front of you. Even if it is someone that has absolutely nothing left in them. Looking good thus far.

Would assume that I didn't actually go straight from playing to doubles into the singles final.

Will have to have a word with the organisers if that's the case.

Ah shit we lost the doubles :(

The third set starts the way that the previous two did, with Force getting broken yet again. But what's this? Force has a break point, he's putting up a fight. Popovic serves up a double fault and it's 1-1 now in the third. This isn't a grass court, but Force has enough confidence now that for some reason he's trying to serve and volley. I mean it's working, he's actually retained his serve for once but it's a little unorthodox to be doing it consistently on a hard court. Play to your strengths I guess. Popovic serving now, and we're at a deuce. Another double fault gives Force another break of serve, it's 3-1 to Force now. But Force is immediately broken again, this really isn't a good match for holding serve. Popovic is broken again for 4-2, it's like he's forgotten what he was doing in the last two sets. Both players hold serve, but then they break each other again! Popovic really had a chance to win the set if he just held in that last game. Anyhow, Force takes the third set.

    Popovic leads 2 sets to 1, 6-0, 6-1, 4-6.

Force looks rejuvenated after winning the third set, but he's already in trouble and looks like being broken in the first game yet again. A lovely backhad down the line does it. But yet again, Force is not one to go down easily and breaks back immediately. Some great tennis on show here, both manage to hold their next games to level the set at 2-2. They break each other again to make it 3-3. Popovic breaks, but just manages to win on serve with a powerful forehand, this could be it for Force, it's now or never at 3-5 down. Force serves to stay in the game. A good return sees him go 15-0 behind. He throws the ball above his head, serves, Popovic returns into the corner. Backhand from Force straight back at his opponent, not noticing that he's coming to the net. A volley and Popovic is two points from winning. Force gives the serve all he's got, called out. The second serve is pelted back at him, he can't handle the power and it's in the net. Three match points for Popovic. Force serves, a bit of a tame return from Popovic. Force sees the loose shot and tries to put the ball right onto the baseline. Popovic drops his racket and lets it go over, the ball is called out. Popovic takes the title, despite not winning anything he looks chuffed with the title.

Bruce Force def by Luka Popovic 0-6, 1-6, 6-4, 3-6

    ROFL at the ending.

Celebrating pointless titles like they were slams. Probably kissing the court.
