Along with the worst I thought as there being a lot of picks with an below standard tone theres a few picks with an above average tone. Round 4's where we start to get the drop where the players arn't necessarily the god tier of previous rounds but they're all extremely important in their roles. People like Baines, Cole and Moutinho are all up there. But for in the end I settled on

Best: Santiago Cazorla - Been an absolute sensation for Arsenal this season, a shining light in what can be considered a fairly dissapointing season. Creative, controlling, a goal scorer and unlike a Spaniard that will be mentioned later on, hes consistent.

Falling just behind Santi and unlucky to miss out is Marek Hamsik. In the same light as Cazorla hes an attacking midfielder with exactly the same positives. They're both just great players to watch and will be able to win some of these games off their own backs.

Worst: Mario Gomez, round 4 we've got someone who has only started 5 games for his team. Hes extremely one dimensional, he will finish off a move for you, hes not going to work, hes not going to get the ball deep or even anywhere less than right near the goal. Hes not going to create anything himself unless its by accidently not finishing something he should have himself.

Isco lucky to miss out. Theres so many games Isco just doesn't turn up to, and in fact they are in the majority. You could probably use your hands to count the amount of games hes done what people imagine he does all the time. If you watch Malaga play in the none high profile games (where to be fair he has done really well) you will see how many games he just does absolutely fuck all. Hes very much a player that if they are playing well they're dominating, but if hes not then hes absolute shite.

None of my players mentioned so far.

Gunning for a solid mid-table place.

Never thought I'd get a pick of the round tbh. Gun.

  5. Riddy JH Ridd

    decent :)

Isco is definitely the one I thought looked most out of place. De Jong was puzzling as well given some of the names that went after him.

Thought Veri would put Terry at or close to the bottom, not even mentioned.

De Jong surely a candidate for worst? Particularly as he was the first man picked. Hardly even plays over Milan's multitude of DMs. And there's Terry of course. Not sure Moutinho is deserving of more than R4 either despite my admiration of him.

Agree with all the calls there though. Have only really seen Isco in the big games so can't really argue with what you've said I guess.

Gomez is the only one I'd argue with. Given it's FM, him receiving service from Robben and Ribery in Zohaib's team could be incredibly effective.

Surprised Di Maria doesn't get a nod at least for best. Hmph.

De Jong was definatley a candidate as well, as I said, there was a lot of below pars and a lot of above pars. If I put another mention in as an extra it would of been him. I decided to only have 2 explained names per category at most though. Fair point though

Suffers for recognition for being in Madrid and Argentine sides loaded with talent. Cazorla and Hamsik regularly stand out for their teams, while Di Maria is consistently rated as part of a gun attacking unit.

Yeah I'm pretty much only talking about real life whenever I discuss picks. FM simmage is just a nice bonus.

2nd time I got the worse player :(

Pretty much what Speriz said re: Di Maria, hes rarley a stand out performer, but thats because hes up with Ronaldo, Ozil etc and theres only so much individuals can do in that immense attacking unit.

Ability wise he is right up there, but players like Hamsik and Cazorla, and even the ones mentioned just before it like Baines and that quite regularly stand out week on week.

    The process:

    - Goat posts review
    - Marcuss will be astonished his player wasn't the best pick
    - Teacups will tell us all how happy he is Montolivo wasn't given worst player
    - Zohaib will be gutted at yet again having another worst player
    - Forumer X will tell Goat what a good job he's doing
    - Forumer Y will then scream for another round of reviews

This is the first round I've mentioned the fact I thought my player was in contention

True, can see Zanetti being the worst in Round 5 despite being in good form for his club
